The U14 Pinnacle Girls unbeaten streak ended June 15 as they met the first place Kelowna A team in Westbank. It was a spirited contest with the Penticton team losing 2-1. Kelowna opened the scoring in the first half to take a lead, but Amanda Chyzzy scored the lone goal in the dying seconds before halftime; the game was tied 1-1 at half. Despite having several scoring chances Penticton was unable to score again. Kelowna tallied another goal late in the second half for the win. This was the team’s first loss in six games. The win streak started back on the May long weekend in Idaho and continued through league play. The previous 3 games, not reported, saw the team beat Kamloops 3-1 on goals by Kate Holowaty, Bryanne Francisco and Amanda Chyzzy; 1-1 tie with Kamloops with Chyzzy again scoring; 3-1 win over Kelowna B team with goals by Chyzzy (2) and Crystal Schuder off a great throw in from Kara Perehudoff. Next action is June 22 vs. Salmon Arm at Dale Meadows Field.
