U14 Girls Dominate Season Opener

On a day that saw sun, wind, rain and snow at Dale Meadows Field in Summerland, the U14 Girls won their 2008 league opener against Salmon Arm 3-1 on Sunday April 5th.  The local team dominated ball control by carrying all of the play in the first half and most of the play in the second half.  All 17 girls who dressed saw action and each performed well in their respective roles.  Goal scorers for the Pinnacles were Zoe Fraser, Amanda Chizzy and Nikita Afonso.  The defensive trio of Brianne Hrynyk, Adra Greig and Shayna Lawrie kept the Salmon Arm team out of the Penticton end for most of the game.  On the rare occassion when Salmon Arm did threaten Anne Theilmann was strong in goal.  The U14 Girls next league action is on April 13 in Vernon.
