In TOYSL U14 Boys league play on Sunday, SOYSA Skaha Meadows Pinnacles defeated
The Pinnacles opened the scoring 3 and a half minutes into the match as James Taylor found the back of the goal after taking a brilliant pass across the 6-yard box from Brayden Hearne. The Pinnacles dominated the rest of the first half with several scoring chances, 2 off the crossbar, before finally scoring their second goal of the game late in the half on a shot by Brayden Hearne from 8 yards out. In the second half, the SOYSA Pinnacles continued their dominance with good passing and ball control. Their relentless pressure kept Kelowna United off balance. In the 21st minute of the half, Josh Manning sent Connor Schenkey in alone on the Kelowna goalkeeper with an excellent pass and Connor scored from the edge of the 18.Again, the Pinnacles back four smothered the Kelowna attack and goalkeeper Spencer Dunstan-Adams only had to stop one shot on goal in recording his seventh clean sheet of the season. Both Brayden Hearne and James Taylor turned in notable performances for the Pinnacles. The win allowed the Pinnacles to remain in second place in the league standings.
SOYSA Skaha Meadows Pinnacles travel to Lake Country next Sunday to play the first place Kelowna United #1 at Beasley Park with kickoff at 11:00 a.m.
