My son Ryan Bumstead played for Penticton under 16 against the Summerland team on Saturday June 12th. He received a yellow card for complaining that the referee was calling his team for kicking their feet too high but never once called the Summerland time for the same offence. He was given no warnings but was told if he opens his mouth again he was out of the game. In the second half a late offside call by the linesman (Desiree Martin)against the Penticton team caused an outcry from players and fans alike. Ryan said “that was the worst call ever”. The referee (Kevin gave him a second yellow card and evicted him from the game.
He gave no warnings to any other players for any offences and it outraged me that my son could be evicted from a game in such a manner. He is now forced to miss a game in the tournement because, for whatever reason, the referee wanted him out of the game. I would like this issue reviewed before the tournement so that if Ryan was treated unfairly he can still play in the tournement.
