Pinnacles U14 girls soccer lost 0-1

The U14 girls soccer team played a spirited game in their last contest before the summer break under sunny skies and +30 temperature at King’s Park. The local girls hosted Kelowna 1 and played them to a 0-0 draw in the first half. Nikita Afonso played well in net for the first half shut-out. The undefeated Kelowna team was given everything they could handle as Bryanne Francisco and Gabby Levesque controlled the middle of the field and the speedy forwards, Crystal Schuder and Amanda Chyzzy tried desparetly to score.  In the second half Kelowna’s persistence paid off as they were able to get a goal early in the second half; they continued to get scoring chances and again the great play of keeper Afonso kept the game at 0-1.  Penticton mounted a late charge and had several quality chances, but were unable to convert; the final score was a 0-1 loss.  This is the last game of the spring/summer schedule and the team will now take a quick break then prepare for the Peach City Classic where they are the defending champions.

I think that this would be something very appropriate for your website to talk about. Women and girls need to be considered equals in life, and as my story shows, girls can earn the respect they deserve. A very young girls’ soccer team played in a league that they dominated. The girls won every game, even against other girls that were older than them. Their coach made a bold move and put them into the boys league. This was met with some criticism, but as the girls did exceptionally well, it made people stop and think about what was fair and right concerning girls and boys. People should not be discriminated against based on gender, and these girls overcame that discrimination. Watch the trailer at http://www.kicklikeagirlmovie.com and see what you think.
